There are only a few people in my life….only enough to count on one hand that have TRULY affected my life. These people aren’t necessarily the ones that I see everyday, but they are the ones that have left an impression on my heart…the ones that impacted me enough so that I can say they helped to make me who I am.
Summar is one of these people. The first time I met Summar, I was driving on UL’s campus. I was passing a kickball game in the big field on Taft Street where the parking garage is now located. So I stopped my car (As a side note: I don’t typically do this. lol)
I was greeted with a friendly face. She was only a bit older than me and she wore a grey shirt that read DAWG in large navy blue letters, so that became her nickname. But her real name is Summar. She invited me to play and we hit it off instantly. The next few weeks of friendship turned into months and months turned into years.
Summar has taught me about patience and selflessness, about living life as a Christian woman. She’s a natural-born leader in athletics and in her walk with God. And I’m amazed by her discipline in all that she does. It’s hard to imagine a man deserving of such an amazing woman…but Stewart was led to her and 5 days ago she married a man just as amazing as she is.
The image above is my personal favorite of Summar. She looks so gorgeous! And when I picture her, I always see her laughing.

Summar’s one of those people that just sort of stand out in life…that has SUCH good character. 🙂
And I’m so lucky to have you as a friend.
One of Summar’s favorite aspects of her wedding was the color pallette and the way the specs of red popped against the black and white.
Summar was SO laid back during her session; she was open to all of my ideas and so trusting. (Not that I would have expected anything otherwise).
And we really couldn’t have asked for a better day…we followed the light the entire session. 🙂 🙂
If you don’t know Summar, then let me tell you a little something about this gorgeous girl. She is an ATHLETE. Former Ragin Cajun Softball Infielder and all-around athlete…..yes, don’t let her fool you with her makeup and heels. She is one tough cookie.
And if only I could have been a videographer at this moment we could have savored the laughs forever…..seriously guys….I swear there was something in that tree. And all the while, Summar’s still there, being beautiful!

Mrs. Penni, Heather, and Lane, thank you guys so much for coming along for Summar’s session. I really enjoyed spending time with all of you….especially the time we spent jumping over brick walls and running from sprinklers.
