Their wedding was inspired by their Sicilian background. And every detail, every aspect of the wedding day was thought through by Lauren + Marc. Their everyday, simple yet elegant style exploded into their details. Her vintage lace garter, the Mother of Pearl prayer book in her bouqet, the family knife used for the 100th cutting, her antique hankerchiefs passed down from generation to generation, and the small framed images of her family members who have passed. These instances, these objects…tell the story of Lauren + Marc…and their families.
Those details make them who they are and I love the way they were so elegantly incorporated. When I arrived, the day was calm, and Lauren was relaxing….ready to marry the man of her dreams. If you don’t remember Lauren + Marc’s love story, I shared the story of the way she met “McStaple” for their engagement post. Lauren + Marc are so different, yet so much the same; their personalities really compliment each other and together, they make the perfect pair. 🙂 🙂 Finally, after all these years….they’re husband and wife.
I am so excited to finally share a preview of their day. And I want to say a special thank you to not only Lauren + Marc, but to their families for being so supportive. It means the world to me.
Lauren’s home is incredible. Her backyard is FILLED with the neatest trinkets and objects….so many vintage and antique things to use for her details. I was in heaven!
Lauren had images of her family members who’ve passed to incorporate into her bouqet.
This prayer book comes from the Voorhies side of Lauren’s family. It was passed down from generation to generation since the 1800s.
Both Lauren’s mother and great grandmother used it for their weddings…and the paper below the bouquet in the image (found inside the prayer book)lists all the names.
Lauren has the most BEAUTIFUL eyes.
Stunning, ladies…just PERFECT! 🙂
While I was with the ladies, Amelia spent some time photographing the men as they prepared for the wedding.
It looks like they did lots of hanging out and chillin’ before the wedding. 😉
Isn’t he so handsome?!
The guys were so sweet…and so wonderful to work with. 🙂
Lauren + her brother: LOVE
Lauren…dancing…OF COURSE!
Just before Lauren walked down the aisle, I could sense and….see Marc’s nervousness.
She is stunning. And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the doors and wood framing of this church.
His face when he sees her.
Amelia grabbed this shot from the back of the church. Isn’t the setting just perfect?!
During the vow exchange, tears filled Lauren’s eyes.
The newlyweds!
Just before the reception, we spent a few minutes photographing in the church.
Mr. and Mrs. Marc Maniscalco!
I just adored Lauren’s decor palette. EVERYTHING was in place…and the colors were so pretty together.
On the knife box, were all the events were the knife was used. Lauren + Marc’s wedding was the 100th cutting!
Their cake by Kathleen Short was beautiful…and tasty.
Even the centerpieces showed of their simple, elegant style.
During their first dance, Lauren + Marc had quite the crowd of paparazzi. 🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
So sweet.
Following Lauren + Marc’s dance, Lauren + her dad danced as well….performing their own choreographed piece!
If you haven’t seen Lauren’s bridals, we made sure to incorporate her ballerina background into the shoot. This group is her ballet friends. 🙂 I just LOVE it!
The traditional toast….the first time I’ve ever seen it done successfully. lol…
Let’s just say that when the bride is a dancer, there will be LOTS of dancing. And there was…..
Cassie, Lauren’s bridesmaid, caught the bouqet!!!! And the saying must be true, because now….she’s engaged!
Lauren gets her love for dance from her mother.
The columns at Abacus came into handy here….I love Mrs. Beth’s expression!
The cousins… lol
….And the wonderful married couple exiting to horns and streamers! Congratulations you two!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thank you so much for having us there to document your wedding.
It’s been such a wonderful experience getting to know you both…Lauren, I feel like since the moment I first met with you and your mom we were friends. Now, I’ve gotten to meet Marc, your families and your closest friends. 🙂 And they’re all awesome too.
I’m blessed to know you.
Have a wonderful afternoon!
I love that you started adding the wedding details to your blog posts! I would LOVE to know what designer her dress was.
Oh silly me. You DID post what designer it was. Doh!
