They’d promised to wait until after finishing college to get married. They wanted to fulfill their individual goals before transitioning into life as a married couple. So after December passed, the ball started rolling on what was next: their journey to the alter.
Kayci + Coby’s engagement began at Hole #9. It was their 6th anniversary so Coby knew he’d have to really work hard to keep the proposal a secret. He mentioned nothing of the occasion…no hints at all and took Kayci to play a round at Atchafalaya at Idlewild. Kayci was focused only on finishing the game, looking forward to a nice peaceful dinner with Coby. However, Coby was stalling the game…working on Kayci’s patience (and playing into his proposal all along).
At the 9th hole, Coby asked Kayci to grab his golf ball out of the last hole. Kayci still isn’t sure how he managed without her noticing–>but when she lifted the ball, it read “Will you marry Meeeeee?” (Coby uses the suffix “eeee” to show excitement at the end of everyday words!) #howcute So when she looked up she found Coby on one knee asking her to marry him!
Kayci was ecstatic and to top off the special occasion, their families were watching the entire proposal from the balcony at the club house!!!
So… a golf course became the spot for their engagement session: Audubon Park to be exact! We spent the afternoon strolling through the park and being spontaneous which I love. At one point in the session I saw an older couple feeding the birds. It kind of reminded me of the movie “The Notebook” so I asked the couple if we could share some bread and pose there for photos! They didn’t mind at all…even participated in the feeding making it the perfect, romantic spot for a few images!
We laughed a ton and I feel super privileged to work with such a sweet couple. Below are my favorites from their session! Enjoy!!!
