Julie + Nick’s proposal story began when they traveled to Wimberley for the weekend. After the road trip there, Julie ran into the house just ahead of Nick. However…when she opened the door she was incredibly confused by what she saw. So, she slowly shut the door, ran back out and consulted with Nick about what she’d seen.
Confused, Nick followed her inside to realize that his “surprise proposal” had been made a surprise to him as well.
Nick had planned ahead of time and shipped a painting created by a local New Orleans artist that read “Will you marry me, Julie?” However, what Nick didn’t anticipate was the painting having been opened and set out on the couch for when they arrived!
So when Nick and Julie walked in the door and this was the first thing they saw…they were BOTH utterly confused by its placement! I love that Nick took the proposal in stride and proposed right there to Julie! They followed the special occasion with champagne on the front porch, soaking in the moment and that special time in their lives.
Julie’s ring is very special; her center stone belong to her grandmother and the side stones belonged to Nick’s great-grandmother.
For their engagements, they chose to travel to New Orleans for the session! Julie + Nick used to lived in there, where they enjoyed taking walks in Audubon Park and eating at their favorite restaurants uptown. So, we wanted to create a session reminiscent of the time they spent in this unique city that we all love so dearly.
We started the session at a house they’d rented in uptown, hopped over to the zoo area and finished the session in the park! I had a blast and even learned a few new words from these two lol. Enjoy a preview of their session!!!
