It’s funny how when you grow up….the people you know change…but, yet they are ALWAYS still the same. As little as this makes sense in writing, it makes perfect sense when I get to see Cairre. Cairre is still 100% Cairre: organized, consistently smiling, and super creative. 🙂 And when I’m around her I’m always reminded of why I loved her so much growing up.
It’s hard to remember exactly how Cairre and I know each other. It could POSSIBLY be from school, but my instincts are telling me that our first meeting happened in dance class. I was the Genie in our Aladdin dance production, and Cairre was Jasmine! We laughed…SO much in those years. We would travel with the “Besse Dance Group” and spend time together in the studio. Even our moms became good friends (and that’s always a sign that we were destined to be friends as well <–especially because even though we don’t tend to admit it, we’re both a lot like our moms. 🙂
As we got older, and eventually stopped dancing, we remained friends. In our college years, we drifted a part but this experience of working with Cairre for her wedding has truly been a blast. You see, I believe that after shooting a wedding with the couples I work with, I walk away with friends. For Cairre, we were friends already so this experience has made our friendship even stronger.
Last weekend, Cairre married Jared and I couldn’t be happier for her. It was so much fun to be on the “inside” of her wedding day and I feel so special that she chose me as her photographer. I am excited to finally be able to reveal Cairre’s bridal session. We shot her session at a family friend’s home in the town where she grew up: Berwick.
Strangely enough, it was the first time, I had been back to that part of the area since high school. It brought back SO many memories…I even found myself stopping at spots where I spent much of my time back then just to rememebr. 🙂 Cairre, I hope you had as much fun at your bridals as I did.
