“This too shall pass.” Seven years ago, I received a small tan card, with flowers lining the edges with these words written on it. The hand writing was familiar, it belonged to Mrs. Susan (my best friend from high school, Katelyn’s mother) <–the third person in our “cool” group of three. That’s right, we were those girls who spent our friday nights at Katelyn’s hanging out around the Kitchen table at Mrs. Susan’s house. So, when Mrs. Susan knew that I was heartbroken she wrote me this note that said those four words.

I bring this up because I can imagine Mrs. Susan telling Katelyn those same four words the night she met the man of her dreams. Little did she know, it would pass more quickly than she expected. Katelyn, feeling sad, found herself hanging out with her (and our) good friend Amy as she paced back and forth, fixing drinks behind the bar at a local hangout. Beside Katelyn was her friend Matt and his friend Billy. Katelyn & Matt were in midst conversation when a woman walked clear across the bar and landed a huge slap right on Matt’s cheek.

Before Katelyn could even gather her thoughts, the woman turned to Katelyn and with the devil in her eyes asked, “WHO.ARE.YOU?!” Without a second thought, Katelyn grabbed Billy by the arm and quickly blurted the words, “I’m with HIM!”

After that chaotic moment, Billy + Katelyn had a few laughs. But suprisingly, the laughter didn’t stop. They spent the entire night laughing…

The unique start of their relationship however, didn’t stop at that first night. Because on their first date, Billy, unknowingly…had FOUR female dates. Katelyn, Amy, and (our) friend Kaylynn, and Rachel. <–lucky guy, right?! 😉 Matt was there as well so I’m sure he didn’t mind being slightly outnumbered. 🙂

On their first OFFICIAL date, following that night, they went to Panetta’s (a restaurant that Katelyn described as perfectly romantic.) I suppose it was a good indication of the way their relationship would “Pan” out (no pun inteded).

Katelyn, I cannot say enough how wonderful it is seeing you with Billy. It’s obvious from an outsiders perspective how happy you two are together. Your personalities are extremely complimentary and it makes me feel so good inside to see you so incredibly content in life. Your confidence and beauty remains and I’m happy that you’ve found someone as awesome as Billy to spend your life with.

Your wedding was perfect. The Navy & Coral color palette were lovely and just one aspect of their fun + elegant wedding. Their style was classic with highlights on things that are memorable and important to them. They especially loved their reception location as it has the most beautiful view of downtown Baton Rouge, the city where they met and live.

I couldn’t be more honored or feel more excited to finally post some of the images from their wedding day!!! Thank you for having us and for allowing Amelia and I to share in this special day! 😉

Weren’t Katelyn’s shoes amazing?!!! And her ring…WOW. Go Billy! 🙂

Hillary did such a beautiful job with Katelyn’s gorgeous hair!

Katelyn, you are beautiful!

I have recently discovered that my favorite flowers are peonies! 🙂 So, I felt that Katelyn’s bouquets were especially perfect!!!

You ladies are just so sweet and fabulous!

Katelyn and Billy opted not to do a First Look, so instead, we shot this photo of them before the wedding…seeing them without them seeing each other.

Their groomsmen shot, styled per Billy’s request. What a studly group of gentlmen.

Just before the doors opened for Katelyn’s grand entrance, Amelia grabbed this photo of Katelyn and her father, Mr. Dean.

Billy says his favorite moment was when Katelyn walked through the church doors. 🙂

Awe!! And look at how his mother Mrs. Gail is looking at him!

They look so perfect and perfectly happy together.

Katelyn says her favorite part of the day was the vows…after all, “isn’t that what they’re day is all about ‘becoming the Mr. and Mrs….'” This shot was taken from my persective:

And this one was taken from Amelia’s.

So sweet!!!

Love the high five, Billy!

After the wedding, I grabbed this shot of Katelyn and Billy in the church!

Being that the church and the Camelot Club were only about a block from each other, their guests lined up outside of the church for them to lead the second line!!! I thought this was sooo cool.

When we were on the ground preparing to enter the reception area, Amelia grabbed this super cool shot of the second line from the Camelot Club on the 22nd floor!!!

Katelyn’s cake was awwweeessooommmeee.

Because Katelyn + Billy didn’t do a First Look on their wedding day and still wanted to get that 15-20 minutes of shooting that the couples I work with love so much,

we snuck away from the reception for a few minutes to shoot around the Camelot Club. Isn’t this space AMAZING?!!!

Oh my goodness…these two are just so stinking perfect together. I love it.

Katelyn + Billy, WOW. You guys look SO sharp! 🙂

This is the smile of Katelyn’s that everyone loves so much. It’s the face of pure happiness and joy. This is the face that Katelyn wears when she’s with Billy.

Katelyn + her dad…:)

…And Billy and his mom!

Below are some of my favorite shots from the reception!

As you can see, it was clearly a wonderful time for everyone!!!! At the end of the reception, Katelyn + Billy exited in rose petals.

Katelyn + Billy,

Thank you so much for having Amelia and I there to document your wedding day. I have loved every moment of getting to know you Billy and seeing my friend so happy!!!! 🙂 🙂 Katelyn , you were a beautiful bride and I have loved being there as your friend and as your photographer. Thank you for choosing me to be the one by your side on such a special day!  I hope your day was perfect and that you two had a wonderful time on your honeymoon!

I know you have a lifetime of laughter to look forward to…just the way that your relationship started!
