We grew up handwriting notes and having in person chats. But today, it’s also common to begin a relationship via text. And so…this is how Mary + Jay communicated at the start. She was a waitress and he was a barback at the same restaurant. They exchanged numbers and began texting. A few words and a sweet sentiment followed by questions and conversation, this is how they started to get know one another. Slowly but surely their connection progressed until they hung out with a large group of friends…and eventually, they went on their very first date.

This past Friday, almost 5 years later, Mary became Mrs. Kasischke. They wanted a wedding that was easy and simple…laid back (just like them). 🙂 Mary + Jay even hired Margaret of ASAP Weddings and Hannah Trahan of City Club at River Ranch to ensure their day was perfect. And it was.

Their Navy, Steel, and Blush color palette really came together as did their vision for the day. In addition, their wedding was sentimental as well…being the same day as Jay’s maternal grandparents (which happened to be a Friday as well). Mary also wore her paternal grandmother’s crucifix, a crucifix that all of her grandmother’s daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters have worn. Amelia and I had a wonderful time photographing their wedding day…and felt honored to document the marriage and memories of two amazing people. 🙂

Enjoy the preview of Mary + Jay’s wedding day!!!! And to Mary + Jay, thank you for the opportunity to photograph your wedding!

 Mary’s ring…gorgeous.

Also very sentimental to Mary, were these pearls. They’ve been passed down for generations and were even stored in the original box.

Something Blue:

Jay surprised Mary with this beautiful bouquet on her wedding day that coordinated with the decor and color palette…….so thoughtful.

Mary, you are beautiful!

She’s always smiling…and genuinely lights up a room! 🙂

These awesome cufflinks…were a gift from Mary.

While I was with Mary, Amelia was with Jay capturing him…looking studly.

Mary + Jay opted to do a First Look for their wedding!

I love when couples choose to see each other before the ceremony because it enables us to shoot their photos in natural light, and also, they can head straight to the reception because they’ve been able to take all of their family photos before!

Amelia and I setup opposite each other so that we were able to get both of their reactions. And this moment with Mary…is quite possibly one of the cutest I’ve seen!

I find that during a first look, the groom is really able to express himself and give the reaction he truly feels without anyone else around. Jay was ALL smiles when he saw Mary.

And do you blame him? She’s stunning!

I also love that they’re able to hug, kiss, and say I love you during a First Look.

Following the first look, we moved into photos of Mary + Jay!

These images were taken just beneath the Carriage House in the area around the hotel and the City Club.

They are such a beautiful couple!

AH! Love. <3

My perspective.

Amelia’s perspective.

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I thought it was absolutely adorable that Jay continued to walk around with Mary’s bouquet. 🙂 So, I just had to grab this shot below….

There was something about the movement of these dresses that I just fell in love with.

Beautiful Ladies!

….and one of my alltime favorite bridal party photos!

The Handsome Groom and his Groomsmen

The wedding was held at St. John’s Cathedral, one of the most beautiful churches in the city.

Even with the first look…Jay’s reaction to seeing Mary walk down the aisle: Priceless.

The beautiful bride:

St. John’s is incredible. I especially love photographing here because you can stand on the side alter area…allowing us to grab this frontal perspective.

Amelia’s perspective of the vows. I love Jay’s expression.

And this is my perspective of Mary’s face during the ring exchange.

It was a very emotional moment for Mary’s family….and a very happy moment as well.

The Newlyweds

Mr. and Mrs. Kasischke

Their first dance as husband and wife….

Mary is practically glowing during their dance!

Mary and her father, Matt.

Crystal Weddings did a fabulous job with their wedding cake!

And mMmmmmMmmm….the cake pops by Katie Bakes were SOO good!

After Mary slipped into her getaway outfit, they exited out with a line of their guests cheering for them along the way.

  1. As one of Jay’s sisters who was unable to make it, and a photographer myself, I just have to say that you have done a simply marvelous job of telling their story, and making me feel like I was there even though I wasn’t able to.

Thank you SO much for doing what you do, and for doing it so beautifully. You captured my brother (and new sister!) absolutely perfectly. They both truly smile radiantly like this at each other every time I see them. <3

Absolutely stunning photography. I will use this as an example of what I would like for my children’s wedding photos…..
