They met online and for weeks they talked on the phone from sunset till sunrise. They discussed their love for family and their similar morals. David and Kathy are living proof that eHarmony worked for them.

After months of dating long distance, David packed up his belongings and made the move to Louisiana….for Kathy. They knew almost instantly that their connection was real and last Christmas, David made it official.

A few weeks before Christmas day, he walked by their Christmas tree and mentioned to Kathy that he felt like something was missing. And the next week, he mentioned it again…and again the week after that. When Christmas rolled around, he hung her ring ever so delicately from a branch and Kathy finally saw what he meant. The tree was now complete, and so was their relationship.

Their wedding was intimate, with no more than 35 in attendance, and on Sunday, November 21 Kathy and David promised to spend forever together.

Kathy’s favorite color is orange….if you couldn’t tell. πŸ™‚ And she made their wedding feel really warm and fall-like with her deep red, orange, and yellow palette.

Kathy’s jewelry from Rivers Bend Beads suited her perfectly and really tied back into the pearls on the tables.

It took me a bit to be able to call each sister by name…Robyn, Tonya, and Kerry were all there to help Kathy as she dressed.

The girls at Coccolare Spa and Bella Sophia did a wonderful job with Kathy’s hair and make up! πŸ™‚

Kathy’s gown was stunning and looked just beautiful on her.

I thought the lighting here was so interesting in the way it just poured into the hallway and then stopped so abruptly.

David’s mother wore a traditional Korean wrap and allowed me to photograph all the hand-sewn details.

Elizabeth was such a big help and was there every minute for Kathy. And seconds before Kathy and David met (without seeing each other) she was there to help still.

Before the wedding everyone relaxed and enjoyed the time together.

David hid behind closed doors and Kathy walked down the stairwell to meet him. He slid his hand around the door frame and she held on tight. It was the first time they held hands on their wedding day. And I saw a mixture of relief, excitement and nervousness radiate off of them.

I have been wanting to find a couple willing to “not see” each other for a scenario such as this. Kathy and David agreed and both were thankful for this moment. They talked through the door but didn’t peak. And for me, well, it was interesting. I could see both of them but they couldn’t see each other. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

As their closest friends and family members settled into their chairs, the ceremony began. The candlelight was beautiful. Kathy did such a wonderful job envisioning the decor.

It was such a nice environment for their ceremony.

And as David nervously awaited to see Kathy, I grabbed these images.

And there she was. David really…….really loves Kathy. It’s so apparent when he looks at her, when he waits for her, when he smiles at her.

LOVE.

Their sit down dinner was everything Kathy and David wanted. They were able to visit and really enjoy one another and their friends.

They didn’t leave each other’s side the entire night. It was soooo sweet to witness their pure excitement to be married.

And they even spent some alone time together, allowing me to grabbing a few beautiful images of just the two of them.

These are a few of my favorites.

And just before I left, Kathy asked me to take a picture with she and David. I thought that was really sweet. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Kathy & David,

I thoroughly enjoyed your wedding, but not just your wedding. I enjoyed getting to know you. David, you are an incredible man, who loves your wife with every inch of you. And Kathy returns that love in full. It’s still amazes me to think of how you met and where life has led you. It really is amazing and it’s been so nice being there as a part of your marriage. I hope your honeymoon in the Dominican was relaxing and I wish you both the best!!
