It was so cold outside; George told Beth he needed to run back to the truck for his gloves. As they slowly hiked their way up to the highest point in Gatlinburg, Beth had no idea what was coming. When they reached the highest point, he dropped down on one knee, and  asked her to be his wife.

George is “selfless, country, and loving” according to Beth’s description the day I met her. And her love for George was written all over her. I talked more about Beth in her bridal post, but she truly is a woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. She has become a friend, and I am so thankful to have met both her and George.

Beth describes her wedding day as “simple, vibrant, and family – oriented.” She finds beauty in the simple things, and lives by the statement “less is more.” The day was filled with sincere moments and complete joy. It truly was a celebration of her and George’s love for each other and everyone around noted their passion for living life and being together.

Beth and her bridesmaids got ready at the Gouguenheim in New Iberia. And as soon as I arrived, I made sure to capture her stunning Maggie Sottero gown from A-nets.

As Beth began putting on her gown, her sister-in-law Erica called attention to the locket on her bouquet. Inside, right next to the cross rosary from Beth’s grandmother, were pictures of George’s parents and grandparents. It was a beautiful moment between the two girls and I can see how much both sisters love Beth.

As the girls were getting ready the boys were…..well, I’m not exactly sure what they were doing. 🙂

I think everyone had a great time and George was looking SO sharp in his tux.

Beth tells me that her favorite wedding detail is her blue “Sex in the City” shoes.

The wedding was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia, the largest and in my opinion, most beautiful church in New Iberia!

One of the sweetest things about a wedding are all of the little moments that happen in between. The smiles, the tears, the excitement, and the nerves. Beth and George were thrilled to have their closest friends and family members there to share in their day.

And as the large wooden doors of St. Peter’s Catholic Church flew open and the light began pouring into the church, so did the emotion. George and Beth both fought back tears as she made her way down the aisle.

The Catholic ceremony, led by Monsignor Keith DeRouen was beautiful.

The exchanging of the vows was emotional. I love the image of Beth below as George promised to love her forever. And for the image on the bottom right, I smile when I see it. I was creeping over, attempting to be invisible, and Beth glances over her shoulder and gives me the cutest smile. She was SO excited and I couldn’t have been more excited for her to have found the love of her life.

And then….on to the second line. 🙂

Having the church so close to the reception is a HUGE advantage. It allows for really special forms of transportion….like walking, in parade form, with music, and pretty umbrellas. 🙂

I love that Beth and George went outside of the box on this one. Do you see their umbrellas??? I LOVE it.

I have to say, I had SO much fun during the second line. If you know me, you know I love to dance. 🙂 🙂 And I did plenty of it…

while taking pictures of course. 😉

Beth and George, I am SO happy for you!!!

Beth made it very clear that she wanted a happy wedding, one filled with joy and laughter. I would say she got it. 🙂

And everything from her decor to her flowers at Shadows on the Teche reflected this sentiment of happiness. Her jewel-toned colors of purple, blues, oranges, and greens created a charming and friendly environment.

It was a beautiful day for an outside wedding!! They really couldn’t have asked for a prettier day!

Ted Viator, owner of The Gardenaire is responsible for the beautiful flowers and the catering can be attributed to Cajun Tidbits.

Beth + George’s cake was BEAUTIFUL!!! OH! And it tasted delicious. 🙂 Yes, I had a piece. Maybe by the end of my lifetime I’ll be a master cake taster. Her cake was made by Colleen Trahan Broussard.

During Beth and George’s first dance, I found myself fighting back tears. I feel like I’ve grown so close to them since I met Beth and I just felt this overwhelming sense of happiness for them. Allison Bohl was there filming a promotional film for me and she could tell right away how in love they are.

This black and white image below is my favorite image from the day.

George did not take his eyes off of Beth on Saturday. I loved seeing them both SO happy.

And just like during the ceremony, the moments in between of their loved ones enjoying the celebration are SO much fun.

The joy was radiating off of Beth on Saturday. She is always smiling so that was typical, but she was extra happy this day.

🙂

Beth and George spent a lot of time on their wedding day just being with each other. I feel like they made sure to ENJOY their day with each other, visiting with their guests, and celebrating their new life together.

They did allow some time away from their guests to spend with me. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to create these images. In addition, I think they liked the chance to breath and be romantic. 🙂

I absolutely LOVE this set below.

Now that they are back from their honeymoon in St. Lucia, they plan to build a house on George’s land, have a family, and live a long, happy life together.

Beth and George,

I wish you both the VERY best marriage that I could wish for another. You both have become so special to me. I am thankful that I have gotten to know you, and have been able to capture your love for one another. Because your love is so passionate, sincere, and true. Your wedding was joyful just as you wanted and I enjoyed every minute of being there and of documenting your day. So thank you!
