Elegant, magical, unforgettable

Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
We chose the Grove in downtown Houston because it feels like your suspended in a sea of oaks surrounded by our beautiful skyline. It’s the epitome of downtown chic. On top of the view, the food at the Grove is unique and delicious. It was a perfect fit for us.

What was your favorite wedding purchase?
My dress! It was only the fourth or fifth dress I tried on. I was with my two aunts and when I slipped it on, everyone in the room was speechless…including me!! We all looked at each other and asked “do we just buy it after 20 minutes of shopping??” It was a very special afternoon, and one I will never forget.

What is your favorite wedding memory?
Waking up the stairs and down the aisle with my dad. It was nearly sunset and the sun came out from behind a cloud just as I turned the corner. Seeing all the people I love most in my life crying and smiling (and of course a sea of iPhones)…then to the end of the aisle my handsome groom waiting for me. It took everything in me not to completely break down in tears. It was an extremely emotional and spiritual moment for me. God and my mom were shining down on us so brightly! So blessed.

Did you create any details yourself? How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
The entire event reflected our personalities. Dat and I love to entertain. We worked so hard on this wedding for an entire year. We wanted an amazing venue/view, perfect lighting/ambiance, incredible food, delicious cake, flowing drinks and an unstoppable DJ. Somehow, we pulled it off. It was magical and unforgettable.
