Jungle Garden Engagements: Tara + Drew

After months of planning to propose, the day finally came. Tara was looking forward to seeing her parents for the weekend and spending time with them!

However, as the weekend came closer Drew broke the news to Tara that her parents wouldn’t make it. She was pretty disappointed so Drew offered to spend their Saturday doing whatever she wanted.

Tara’s face lit up over the idea of dressing up and going to dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Coincidentally, his and her plans were the same. They dressed in their best and headed to the restaurant the following evening. The hostess greeted them and sat them in the center of the restaurant.

After settling in and placing their order, Drew stood beside the table, lifted his glass and began to tap it with his silverware. Conversation subsided as everyone in the restaurant ceased to speak.

Drew asked for everyone’s attention as he had an announcement to make. Tara, completely confused held her breath waiting for Drew’s next words. Drew then walked slowly around the table to stand beside her.

And then, in the middle of the restaurant with all eyes watching he asked her to be his wife. Through tears, Tara said yes! And the restaurant exploded into applause.

SO. Romantic!

When Tara finally whiped away her tears, the waitress offered to move them to a more “romantic” table. Tara felt so honored as she and Drew got up from their table and followed her to the back of the restaurant. But when she opened the doors, she was overwhelmed by the faces of their families.

It’s been wonderful working with Tara + Drew already. They’re both so calm and laid-back ….. and just so darn nice! 😉 We photographed their engagements on a lovely day in New Iberia and I’m excited to share a few of my favorites (which was quite difficult to choose). I especially love that they dressed up for the occasion. The contrast of the natural setting at the grounds really makes for beautiful images:::
