Downtown New Orleans has become one of April and Michael’s favorite places to be. They love the restaurants, the atmosphere, and the romantic feel of the city. In April of last year, they visited the city with the intentions of running the Crescent City Classic. The didn’t run in the event, however, April did leave with a ring. 🙂
April and Michael knew that they were on the path to marriage. In fact, they were so sure that while they were in New Orleans, they spent some time checking out reception venues. At the end of the day, Michael took April for a walk by the River. Just as the sun started to set in the horizon, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
On this past Thursday, April and Michael made the trip to New Iberia for their engagement session. The morning was absolutely beautiful…and the light! AH! To die for…
We spent the morning shooting around one of my alltime favorite locations: Jungle Gardens, laughing…and just enjoying the shoot. I really enjoyed shooting with these two for a couple of reasons. I love that their love for each other really comes through in front of the camera. They are unafraid to be who they are and are just so comfortable around each other. April, was a ballerina for the greater part of her life and still enjoys dance. So her posing and posture was flawless. 🙂
I love a couple that I can learn from and admire. I really look up to these two not only for their ambitions in life, but for their ability to love each other despite the circumstances of distance and the busyness of life.
One of my favorite things about this shoot are the moments that were captured in between the poses..during the laughter that occurred throughout. I am very much looking forward to their wedding and excited to share their engagement session!
