Before the day had come, Tara asked Jen’s mother for Jen’s hand in marriage…which was gladly given. So in April of 2012 Tara + Jen left the shore for an exciting family cruise with Jen’s family. Tara decided that her birthday would be the day she asked Jen to marry her. The cruise was to the Bahamas, so Tara wanted to make sure she asked before they lost cell phone range.
The night of her birthday came and as they dressed for the captain’s dinner, she knew the time had come. They made their way to the dining area, and on the walk she pulled out the ring to show Jen’s cousin…asking him to be her camera man. She wanted to make sure that the moment was captured as she knew it’d be a moment they’d treasure forever.
She found a spot high above on a beautiful stairwell and encourage Jen to take pictures in their “sunday best”. In between each shot, Jen would stop to see the photo, so Tara, getting anxious….continued to be patient as she waited for the right time. However, their “camera man” was not so patient, leaving Tara scrambling for a new option and way to have the moment documented.
On the stairwell below, Tara spotted a professional photographer set up and ready to photograph couples as they entered the dining area. Knowing this was their best option, Tara convinced Jen that it would be a great idea for them to get a nice professional photo of this special occasion. Jen and Tara posed for the photographer and just as they finished the shot, Tara turned to Jen, pulled her in to say “I’ll keep you forever.” And then…she got down on one knee, promising to do just that.
Jen + Tara’s engagement session couldn’t have gone better! I have been praying for cooler weather…and boom! Here it is: the start of Fall! I’m so excited to share a preview of their session at Jungle Gardens! Enjoy!!
