With the holidays quickly approaching, Ben made the decision that he would soon propose to Sarah.
The week of the UL’s participation in The New Orleans Bowl rolled around. It was Dec 21st…supposedly “the end of the world”…so, what better day than that day?! After all, if the world didn’t end, Ben knew he’d want to spend the rest of his life with Sarah.
Ben’s original plan was to propose at The Fly in NOLA but life had other plans. With the location being blocked by construction, he quickly created a new plan. At this point, he was shocked Sarah hadn’t felt the ring which was in its box inside of his vest. She had hugged him several times throughout the day…and he was becoming anxious that the surprise would be ruined.
He suggested they visit the Audubon zoo and after three hours of searching for the perfect place to propose, he chose the entrance. When Ben got down on one knee, Sarah was completely silent as the tears began to fall. It wasn’t until a few moments later when she realized that she never responded…so instead, told him to “ask her again!”
Hugs, kisses, laughter, and a “YES!” followed…and these two have been enjoying their engagement since! I’m so excited to have been chosen to work with Sarah + Ben.
We spent the afternoon shooting in the lovely Jungle Gardens of New Iberia. For the first part of the shoot, we were joined by their adorable dog, Ralph! And the rest of the shoot, I had fun getting to know them even better! I cannot wait to take part in documenting the festivities of their wedding day!
