River Ranch Engagements: Naomi + Travis

Naomi + Travis sat across from me in my office as I watched the video they’d shared: the video of their proposal.

Travis thought ahead and planned to have someone film the night he would propose…so that in the future, they could cherish it and share with others. As I sat across from them, I literally shed tears. It was so sweet to see the moment unfold and immediately gave me a glimpse into who they are: a sweet, loveable couple…destined to spend their lives together. 

The day he proposed was the day he picked up her ring. He made the decision to ask for her hand in front of her family (including her parents and cousins).

It was Christmas, and they were exchanging gifts when Naomi’s mom stood to bring over a present for Travis. Naomi sat on the couch, focused on Travis as he unwrapped the gift from her mother.

But in Travis’s mind, he was only thinking of the proposal. He finished unwrapping his gift and without hesitation, immediately walked to Naomi (catching her completely offguard.) There, in her shorts and red shirt, she sat and she watched him get down on one knee. Through tears, she asked if it was real, looked around, hid shyly in her shirt for a moment, stared at her blue fingernails…then finally wrapped her arms around him, wiping her tears and saying yes!

….We photographed Naomi + Travis’s engagement session in the area where they met. We started at the City Club Pavillion and made our way through the courtyards and landscapes of River Ranch. It was a gorgeous day and the perfect opportunity for me to get to know them even better. I love that they bring out a special something in the other and I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding.
