What adjectives best describe your wedding?
Classic, Joyous, and FUN!!

Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
Growing up in Abbeville, Andrew received all of his sacraments at St. Mary Magdalen so it was only fitting that he received the Sacrament of Marriage there, too! Although we are not parishioners, we often visit St. Mary Magdalen to celebrate holidays and special occasions with family. This was important to me because I wanted to get married somewhere where I knew we would return to celebrate mass for many years to come!

What was your best wedding day memory?
Kim: One of my favorite memories from our wedding day was the trolley ride on the way to the church. I was surrounded by my family and closest friends and we listened and sang along to “Going to the Chapel”. It was extremely special to have one last moment with the people who have loved and supported me unconditionally throughout my life as I headed with excitement to the church to begin this next journey. My other favorite memory is standing outside the church with my dad waiting for the doors to open. In true fashion, he made me laugh right up until we heard the horns blaring and the doors opened, where I could finally see my future husband!
Andrew: The whole day leading up I was very excited and from what I have heard from many friends is that “once you get into the church, you become very nervous”. What I remember most was never really getting nervous; there was a small swirling pit in my stomach but I was more excited and happy than anything. Time slowed down seeing Kim coming down the aisle and that just solidified that I should have never for one second been nervous.. Taking her tremendously shaky hand for the first time was my favorite memory of the night and something I’ll never forget.

How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
We wanted our wedding to be exactly that, a celebration! A celebration of love, of friendships, and of two families joining together! We wanted our guests to feel the sweet Louisiana hospitality and have a night they would never forget. We tied in our love for the Louisiana culture in a few of the details throughout our wedding. If you know Andrew, you know that his two favorite things in this world (besides me) are the LSU Tigers and his funny basset hound, Patot. To reflect this he had a LSU inspired cake with a big eared basset hound siting on top. Our cozies were designed by my friend Lauren, owner of Sibley Designs, and featured a scene of Tiger stadium and the Acadian flag.

What is your wedding song?
I thought we were going to dance to “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees but little did I know Andrew and my Step-Dad, Mr. Mike, had a surprise for me! Wayne Toups had planned to be there to play for our first dance. Unfortunately, something came up and Wayne was unable to make it. He and his band went to La Pavillon to record a special version of “Take My Hand” just for us. I know we will play our video and dance to our song for MANY years to come!
