I tend to get fixated on ideas, like:
*…the day I decided I would “redo my living room in a day.” Six weeks later I finally trashed the last paint can.
*…when I decided I “needed” a dog.
*….the time I spent an entire afternoon organizing. First it was my medicine cabinet, then my closet, then the office closet, then the pantry…I’m still organizing.
*….the idea that I “had to have” the black and white United Nude pumps. I mean, they were obviously designed with me in mind.
And as my friends, family, and yes, Brad especially knows…once I get fixated on an idea, that’s it. I will do everything in my power to accomplish the idea or make it happen. Obviously, in an ideal world everything would always go as planned. But realisticially, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t.
Fortunately, in this case of an idea….it happened! At the end of last summer, I started feeling like my website was out of date. It was a flash website and one that was difficult to update. My images on the site were over 1.5 yrs old and I knew that it wasn’t a good representation of my brand.
So, I started looking around at sites that I was drawn to, and I continuously visited MindyWeiss.com . I loved the “clickability” of her site and wanted something that felt and functioned in a way that was fresh, clean, and modern.
I contacted her designer : FLOSITES and the rest was history.
I really could go on and on about Flosites. Their customer service is INCREDIBLE! And I truly feel that they met EVERY need and desire of mine.
From the beginning, they made an effort to get to know who I was and what I was looking for in my website. They responded to all emails and concerns within 24-48 hrs and made every change requested! Below is a screenshot of the ABOUT page!
I knew going in that I had a lot of ideas and requests. I had NO IDEA that they would all be accomplished. Seriously. Not an exaggeration. Every request.
Flosites always found a way to make it happen (no, I’m not being paid to say this; they aren’t even aware that I’m writing this post.)
*I wanted my website to fit on an ipad horizontally & vertically. DONE.
*An about section with a “Behind-the-Scenes” gallery. DONE.
*A clean, modern…and fresh design. DONE.
Every. Single. Request.
Even after the initial launch of the page, they are STILL working to perfect the site. I cannot thank them enough. Below is a screenshot of the WEDDING PORTFOLIO.
Aside from the new format of well, everything….there are a few sections that are specifically new to the site.
This is a screenshot of the TESTIMONIALS section.
For instance, blogging and being featured on other blogs is a large part of my business. It gives me the chance to share my couples stories in another light and I was so excited to see this PRESS section come to life!
Another new portion of the site is the FAQ spot. I feel like as a couple is searching for their photographer, this will really help them understand the “must-knows” of my business.
I thought having a CLIENT LIST would also be fun! Lots of my business comes from past referrals so it will be neat for new potential clients to be able to click the names of their friends and visit their existing blog posts!
The FIRST LOOK page is also a new addition! I emphasize the importance of considering a First Look to every client who comes through my door. I also blog about it often!
With this page, clients will be able to see what a First Look is…and a few pictures to show the “experience” of it all!
The PRODUCTS section is another spot that will be helpful for clients! They can use this section to reference when sifting through the pricing menu.
Below is how I knew Flosites was AMAZING! I emailed them this idea…and seriously had NO idea how it would translate. All I knew is that I wanted a section that showed the different cities and states where we’ve photographed with links to previous blogposts featuring the venues.
And BOOM.
The BLOG and WEBSITE are now interconnected…so the blog got a facelift too!
In an effort to share with the community, the FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS section will hopefully reach out to other photographers looking to grow, learn, and build their businesses.
Lots of photographers have given back and I owe it to them to be where I am today. I can only hope to do the same for others in my career.

This website has been a work in progress for AWHILE now…and I’m so excited to finally have it online! The process has been so easy thanks to Flosites and I hope those who visit find the site easy to navigate and user-friendly as well!
