Approximately 5 years ago, they were working together here in Lafayette. But it wasn’t until her move to Texas that Josh realized how her absence made his heart grow fonder. Josh began calling her and expressing his interest in their dating. What started as long distance trips from Lafayette to Texas and Texas to Lafayette…turned into meetings in the middle and then finally, when Taneeya found a job here, they could be together again in the same city.
Many years later, on St. Patrick’s day in New Orleans…Josh had all the intenions of proposing. But with the crowded streets and restaurant he decided to wait. And when the moment, that everyday moment of changing a light bulb for Taneeya came along he knew it was the time. When she walked in the room to see what was taking so long, there he was with ring in hand.
I asked Taneeya on her wedding day what the one thing was that she loved the most about Josh. She paused and confessed it was a tough thing to decide and that maybe she couldn’t pick a favorite. But one thing she does love about him is that she feels taken care of. She said that Josh is dependable and she knows no matter what he’s there for her.
Amelia and I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding and I was so excited to see Taneeya’s dream of a classy and relaxed wedding day come true.

Amelia also took the chace to photograph two of Josh’s favorite details: his Fleur De Lis cufflinks and his engraved pocket watch.
Meanwhile, I was downtown photographing Taneeya’s gorgeous details including her shoes….
….and her INCREDIBLE gown!!!!!

The thing I love about Taneeya is that she is always smiling.
….OH! And I love that she and her sister have such great taste in shoes. 🙂

As soon as I walked in the hotel, I knew I wanted to take a shot of her on this modern yellow couch. Taneeya and I are SO on the same page.
When we left the hotel, on the way to the venue, we stopped at City Park to do their First Look.
When Josh turned around, his expression was priceless!!!

We spent some time just before the wedding shooting in City Park. I couldn’t be more thankful to have clients like Taneeya and Josh who trust me and who are willing to make the effort for beautiful images!!!
When the sun began to set, I took out my lights and grabbed this shot of Josh and his groomsmen holding their pocket watches.
When Taneeya walked down the aisle, she showed her true, raw emotion.

Not only was it a beautiful day with a beautiful ceremony, but the celebration was exactly what they wanted.
One of my favorite details was a sentimental one. Josh and Taneeya’s cake topper was the same cake topper that Josh’s mom and dad used for their wedding.
Now, I see where Taneeya got her beautiful looks from!!! 🙂
