The last week of hunting season came to an end; Travis was returning home after spending time with his buddies at a pig roast and Nikki and her mom had just arrived back in town from a beach trip. Travis made sure that Nikki cleared her schedule because “he had a surprise.”
Nikki loves Nottoway so when Travis told her that’s where they were going for dinner she was BEYOND excited. But she didn’t realize that there was more to the night…much more important things to come.
During dinner, Travis’s best friend Will’s wife and mother were like paparazzi, hiding in the bushes during dinner snapping images and even as Travis led Nikki to the front of Nottoway there were there still capturing memories of the occasion.
Travis tried not to be distracted when he saw them, and quickly (according to Nikki VERY quickly) led her to the front of Nottoway. As soon as they stopped he was down on his knee asking her to marry him.
According to Nikki, before she could even say YES, Travis gave her the ring! lol..I suppose proposing is not an easy thing. 🙂 MAD props to Travis for making the occasion so romantic and so special. They spent the rest of the evening celebrating and even spent the night on the grounds. AH! I LOVE love.
We started Nikki + Travis’s engagement session in the place where he proposed: Nottoway. And we finished the rest of the engagement session on the land where he grew up helping his father farm. It was definitely a unique session and I’m so excited that we were able to shoot in places that meant so much to them as individuals and as a couple.
Nottoway is so beautiful; definitely one of my favorite places to shoot.
It was easy to grab fun moments exchanged between these two!
I can’t even imagine the upkeep of these grounds. There’s so many beautiful and wonderful things here.
This is one of my absolute favorite images from the shoot. It reminds me of a scene out of Lady and the Tramp. All we need is a long spaghetti noodle.
🙂 I love Nikki’s expression in this image. She’s so cute!
Call me cheesy but everytime I look at this photo in my head I sing the song “Dirt Road Anthem” in my head.
H.O.T.
We made our way to the land where Travis grew up…and had the awesome opportunity to shoot amongst these incredible tractors that Travis’s grandfather refinishes.
She thinks his tractor’s sexy.
There’s always that moment during an engagement session where they’ve really loosened up and their true selves come out. This is the moment.
AH!!!! I’ve always wanted to get a shot like this.
So sweet…
This was Travis’s dad’s first tractor … do you see the initials (RCL) in the background? So, we took this shot especially for him. I think he’ll love it.
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
I had such a fun time shooting with you two!!! I’m happy that we were able to escape the rain and enjoy the morning. Thank you also for treating me to lunch! I enjoyed spending some extra time with the two of you…feel like we could visit forever! 🙂 I’m looking forward to working with you, Nikki, for your bridals…and can’t wait for the wedding!
Precious picture Travis and congratulations and best wishes to you guys! Love, Ms. Celeste and Mr. Rick
I absolutely love everything about this!!! I am so happy for you Travis!! Best Wishes to both of you!!
