Welcome to my blog! This is both my online business and personal journal where I share all of my photography and business projects! Allow me to introduce myself...I am Catherine Guidry, a Louisiana wedding photographer. I was raised in a small town but consider myself a big dreamer. My favorite things in life are spending time with friends and family, bike riding with my husband and working on new creative projects! I am all about meeting new friends and can't wait to meet you!
If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?
Classic, elegant, joyful
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
Our faith is important to us, so it was really special to be married in the Catholic Church. Saint Joseph’s Cathedral is gorgeous, and is different looking than most cathedrals. That’s why we like it! Our reception venue is very Louisiana–we love our home state and the Old Governor’s Mansion is a part of Louisiana history, so what better place to celebrate our wedding day?! I wanted our wedding day to embody the spirit of Louisiana, and I feel that it did.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
I was so pleased with my flowers! It’s hard to choose just one detail, because our reception venue itself had a bunch of neat details.
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
It’s a tie! Walking down the aisle with my dad to Andy, and our first dance. We sang to each other the whole song.
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
My dress was very me, and Andy incorporated details into his suit that were very him–namely his crawfish cufflinks he gave as a groomsmen gift! I designed Andy’s grooms’ cake to represent everything about him so that was fun! We also chose our menu that included a lot of our favorite cuisine and had signature cocktails for each of us–the Mongrue Mule, and the Landry Lite (Miller Lite, that’s all Andy drinks!)
What is your wedding song?
