What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Joyful, vintage-inspired, classic New Orleans

Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
We knew right away that the perfect place for us to be married was at Holy Name of Jesus on St. Charles. Not only is it a gorgeous church, but it is where my parents got married 34 years ago, and it is where we will continue to be parishioners. Having attended a Jesuit college, we found it so special to be married in a Jesuit church.
Our reception was at the Opera Guild Home, which we fell in love with immediately. The house is ridiculously beautiful and full of history and feels so New Orleans. And Brennan’s is their exclusive caterer, so it was a win-win!

What was your favorite wedding purchase?

My headband!! I dreamt about it for awhile before finally buying it, and I think I wore it for 24 hours straight before finally taking it off ;)It just felt so like me and fit in with the feel of our wedding so well. Sometimes, its the small things! What is your favorite wedding memory?

What was your best wedding day memory?

This is so hard! I think it would have to be our send-off. It was an incredible moment of celebration, and it was so fantastic to have all of the people we care so much about literally showering us with such love and joy. It was unbelievable!

Did you create any details yourself? How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
We ended up creating a lot of details ourselves, which really helped to incorporate our personalities into the wedding. I painted our Save the Dates and a picture of the church for the cover of our programs. We searched for vintage hankies and gave each bridesmaid her own and had them out for guests to take during the ceremony and use for the second line. My sisters made the ribbon wands for our send off, and the youngest shared her beautiful voice during the ceremony. We framed old wedding photos from our parents and grandparents to have on display during the reception. I also surprised Chad with a Star Wars garter (in lieu of the light saber send off he initially envisioned 😉 And Chad was able to use his dad’s wedding band, which we had cleaned and re-sized for him and which turned out perfectly.

What is your wedding song?
“This Year’s Love” by David Grey
