Yesterday was Thanksgiving…so as Fall comes to a close I thought today would be a fun time to blog some favorites from my recent travels to Arkansas. The trip was purely spontaneous and solely for fun. I am OBSESSED with the weather this time of year and the fall foliage as well, so Arkansas was the closest I could go during my busiest time of year. The drive was about 10.5 hours there and back but 100% worth it! <3
Just before the trip I purchased an f100 35mm film camera. I have been searching for something small and portable, light enough to carry anywhere. And because film is my new love I was stoked to find this body! This trip was my first time using the new camera and after thinking that I had exposed and ruined my first roll…I was ecstatic to see that the images actually turned out just fine! Despite a few light leaks toward the end…the majority of my images were perfectly in tact!
The first few shots below were taken in Arkansas’s Ouachita Forest near the Little Missouri River. The lower portion of this post is featuring images from Thorn Crown Chapel just outside of Eureka Springs. I can still remembering stumbling across this chapel in Architecture school books and have been itching to see it since! The chapel was quite a bit taller than I envisioned and attending a service there that morning was icing on the cake. It’s a working chapel and treated with the utmost respect. I would love to photograph a wedding here one day!
Traveling is my true love and I love having these images to remember. 🙂
