He was a senior and she was a freshman, both taking part in chorus class. Like most in high school, their concentration was on relationships rather than music notes and somehow their two friends set them up on a date: a night at Judice Inn and watching What Women Want (the movie)…I suppose Rebecca was letting James know early on what she was looking for. 😉

They went on a few dates that year, and then James went off to college. He may have gone on to new life endeavors but he never forget Rebecca. It had been 3.5 years when Rebecca graduated and also moved on to new things: her studies at SLCC. She was on campus one day when she heard her name.

She turned around….and didn’t even recognize him: It was James. They dated a few times more that year and again…life took over and their dating was put on hold.

Valentine’s Day the year they started dating again: Rebecca had just finished washing up for the night when she heard her dad say, “Hey James!” Thinking it was her brother her dad was talking to (because her brother Nick’s middle name is James)…she went on about her business. Until she heard his voice and knew that it was James. They ended up spending that Valentine’s Day night together in the movie theatre enjoying Fool’s Gold. 🙂 And their official dating story began.

It’s been 11 years total….and 1 year ago in December, James stopped for a detour on their way to a Christmas party at a little park near her work and took her out for a stroll. He asked her to have a seat on the bench and close her eyes. When she opened them, he was down on one knee…asking her to marry him.

Rebecca + James’ wedding was all that they wanted: Simple, Intimate, and lots of Fun. Her Apple Red and Ivory Palette was dispersed throughout her details and really brough the Christmas (and coincidentally…the UL Lafayette) spirit to her wedding day.

Rebecca wore her mother’s jewelry…so special. And I adore these shots Amelia grabbed of Rebecca’s neice Eli below. 🙂

Isn’t she ADORABLE?! I love those big beautiful eyes.

Allison did such a wonderful job with Rebecca’s hair and makeup!

Just before their first look, I grabbed this shot of James while he waited in the other room.

Rebecca’s mom and bridesmaids helped her into her gown…

….and in my opinion, turned her into a “Snow Princess.” 🙂 🙂 🙂

I don’t typically blind fold the groom, but we wanted to make SURE that James didn’t peak! 😉

The second James turned around, he kissed Rebecca and told her how beautiful she looked.

Her mom, and her bridesmaids had the opportunity to watch the sweetness unfold.

Just after their First Look, we spent some time photographing Rebecca + James in the gorgeous light!

And while Amelia photographed from this angle…

I photographed from this angle.

This is one of my favorites!

The ring Rebecca’s dad gave her mom when they were dating, was pinned underneath Rebecca’s dress….her something blue. (And borrowed, too!)

Leona Sue’s did a wonderful job with Rebecca’s bouqet. I’ve never seen pine cones incorporated before. LOVE it.

James…peaking of course. 😉

While I was photographing the processional, Amelia grabbed this shot of Rebecca as she waited.

Mr. Bobby just LOVES his little grandbabies.

And of course, they’re SO cute….everyone smiles when they see them.

The moment the doors open. Rebecca was all smiles.

Look how much they both LOVE her! 🙂 🙂 🙂

It was really neat to see everyone’s expressions as they exchanged their vows.

Mr. and Mrs. James Lee: My Favorite Photo of the Day!

Enjoying each other before the reception.

City Club provides a pretty backdrop for this shot. And these two are just so perfect together.

Crystal Weddings: You ROCK!

Their First Dance as husband and wife.

I believe this is my favorite Father/daughter dance shot…..ever.

Mrs. Liz getting down!!!!

The reception was SO much fun!

These were the cutest napkins for their second line.

Bella, you make me smile.

Exiting and headed to Disney!

Rebecca + James,

Being a part of this journey with you two has been so much fun. I couldn’t have asked for such a sweet, kind, and caring couple to work with. Your families have made me feel SO welcome every step of the way, and Amelia and I cannot stop talking about how we SO SO enjoyed your wedding.

I hope you are enjoying the holidays and preparing for a wonderful New Year as husband and wife.

Catherine
