River Oaks Wedding: Mirada + Chris

It’s been over 11 1/2 years since Mirada and Chris began their love story.

They met in high school and although they mingled in similar friendship circles, it was always Mirada + Chris. She told me that she remembers finding reasons to talk to him at school…like at lunch, every day, she’d ask him for a piece of gum. And Chris says he always made sure that he had gum, so that she would be sure to come back the next day. 😉

They do everything together…and are always looking out for one another. I made a mental note after being around them that they even finish each others’ sentences. Chris + Mirada are always thinking of the other…making sure that they are both on the same page…and enjoying the moment.

That’s exactly what they did on their wedding day…they enjoyed it! Their wedding was held at River Oaks in Lafayette, LA and I was so happy to see all of their friends and family members gather for their special day. Amelia and I really enjoyed being there to document it and to celebrate this incredible occasion for a couple so in love.

This morning, Mirada even emailed me to say that the day of her wedding…she was the happiest person on the planet!  I’m so happy not only that you two had a wonderful and perfect wedding day..but that you are in for a lifetime of happiness together.

While I was with Mirada, Amelia grabbed this shot of Chris. Along with a sweet note, Mirada surprised Chris with tickets to the Journey concert!

Mirada’s bridal party consisted of all family. 🙂 It was really fun to see them all interacting with each other on the wedding day!!!

Chris + Mirada decided not to see each other before the wedding…but they did hold hands, and tell each other that they loved each other. 🙂

And I grabbed this shot…where I could see them but they couldn’t see each other.

Mirada and Chris opted not to do a First Look…so this was the BIG moment when she walked through the doors!

The ceremony was so nice…I’ve never seen these two SO happy!!!!! 🙂 🙂

I couldn’t even imagine how excited they must have been to become husband and wife after all these years.

AHHH The GOLDEN Hour! 🙂 Love….It was hot out, but Mirada + Chris agreed to go outside to shoot as the sun set…and I’m SO happy they did!

Mirada and her dad dancing. This is so perfect; these moments happen SO quickly. It makes me happy to know that she will forever be able to remember them.

A tradition in Mirada’s family is the “circle dance”. Her family wears masks and they dance around the bride and groom. It’s their way of welcoming them into the family!
