Have you ever considered silks for your wedding but were afraid of the end result? Although this is starting to sound like the introduction to a QVC commercial, I really am about to propose a solution.
Well, first I think I should start with the concept of finding an awesome florist and someone open to creating florals that are on trend. So, with that being said, I’d like to suggest looking into Mia Sandberg of Root Floral Design. She’s young, fashionable, open-minded and her background in interiors keeps her on point with color and style.
Once you’ve found your florist, consider this option: BALSA WOOD FLOWERS!
The solution began at a recent shoot in Disney World. We were anxious to create a beautifully styled shoot since we’d be in one of the most magical places on earth but needed florals that would last approximately one week. In comes the wooden flowers.
I know what you’re thinking…the old school, stiff wooden flowers that we’d paint growing up. But no, I have never seen these before and I just had to introduce them to the blog! I couldn’t believe my eyes, especially considering that Balsa wood was what we used to make architectural building models in college.
Below is an image of a bouquet and a boutonniere (I can almost never remember how to spell that word) created by Root Floral Design of Balsa Wood Flowers!!!
What do you think? I think they’re fabulous and cannot get over how soft and beautiful they look!
Stay Simply Modern,
Catherine
