“Serendipity” interchangeably used with “Happy Accident” or “Pleasant Surprise” is a phrase Kristin + Philip often use to describe their relationship. I listened as Philip recounted the story… as if he knew from that first day she was the one. Serendipity also stems from “Serendip” which is an old name for Sri Lanka, the country Philip’s dad is from.
Four years to that serendipitous first evening, Kristin + Philip tied the knot in San Francisco’s City Hall! After initally planning a New Orleans wedding, they decided an elopement was more in line with the vision for their day.
San Francisco is a place they’ve wanted to visit for some time and after seeing the City Hall there, they were convinced it was the perfect spot for their elopement!
What was most important to them was to be comfortable, and to enjoy a relaxed and smooth day. Having been there to document it…I can attest to the fact that the day couldn’t have been better! 🙂 It was my first time photographing an elopement and I had a blast!
We started the afternoon at Powell Hotel, took a limo to City Hall for their ceremony, and finished the afternoon shooting at sunset on Baker Beach!
Kristin had so many lovely details including a GORGEOUS brooch bouquet that their families contributed to, vintage gloves, two beautiful dresses for the occasion…and a handsome husband to match! Philip also wore his own custom-made cufflinks; and was surprised with his grandfather’s wedding ring…now engraved with both his grandparent’s wedding date and his own.
Below are my favorites from this fabulous City Hall elopement!
