Was this the dress you initially thought you’d wear for your wedding?
Accidentally yes!! One of the first things I did after getting engaged was look at wedding dresses online (duh!). I found THE MOST AMAZING DRESS and saved it in the folder on my computer that would quickly become a black hole of wedding ideas. By the time I started actually looking for wedding dresses the online pictures from before were a blur. It wasn’t until I saw it in person that it hit me- it was THAT dress!! THE dress!! I was so excited – there was a lot of squealing involved. 😉
Tell Me About Your Dress! Why did you choose this look?
I knew I wanted tulle and an illusion neckline, and I adored the antique beaded look of the top. Once I put it on and saw the back- ahhhh it was exactly what I wanted. And it had buttons!!! I am normally not very decisive, but on that day there was no question! I feel like the dress found me!
How do you feel when you put on your dress?
This dress makes my heart skip a beat! It is 100% me!
Why did you choose this particular bridal session location?
The location that we chose is so unbelievably special; it made my bridal session even more fantastic! Spring Hill College is where Chad and I met and where our relationship had its foundation. When I was trying to pick a place I realized how perfect it would be. First of all the campus is so rich and gorgeous with old buildings (the little white sodality chapel) and green everywhere (the azaleas are Chad’s favorite,) and if we were to get married anywhere else it would be in St Joseph chapel there. It is also in Chad’s hometown of Mobile so his mom and my parents were all able to come. (We had so much fun!!) I am so excited to surprise Chad that this significant place in our lives is the backdrop for my pictures. I know he is going to love it, and it was really an incredibly special experience for me. I got to be in some of my most favorite places in my wedding dress!!! And did I mention how gorgeous the campus is!?
Any advice for future brides embarking on this wedding journey?
Things come together even when you don’t think they will! Something will go wrong, and expecting that helped me to stay calm. You can do nothing to control the weather- literally nothing so let that worry go! At some point let go of the Pinterest perfection and enjoy what you have planned. Get ready for insane amounts of love from everyone that you care about- it is amazing!
