Amanda + Chris spent their first date strolling around the French Quarter in New Orleans. Unbeknownst to them, it would become the place where they started the rest of their lives together.
Chris + Amanda have such a sweet relationship. When Chris looks at Amanda, his face says it all. They love to go fishing, camping, and spend most of their time outdoors.
I’m so happy that Chris + Amanda were blessed with such a fun day to celebrate their marriage. The wedding was elegant with gold and ivory details spread throughout.
The bridesmaids yellow dresses were perfect for Spring and for reflecting Amanda’s love for sunflowers. I asked Amanda what her favorite wedding purchase was and she explained that besides her dress and shoes, she especially loved the oyster bar because it represented her father.
We were also able to shoot their first look and pre-ceremony photos around her home and the area that her dad built so I thought that was really special as well!
Congratulations to a special couple…..I’m excited to share a preview of your wedding day:
When I arrived at Amanda’s all the girls were dressed in these super cute etsy robes. Wearing fun, colorful getting ready outfits really does make for nice images!
While I was with Amanda, Amelia was able to grab a few shots of Chris as he got ready to see Amanda for their First Look!
My favorite thing about Spring weddings are the peonies and pastel color palettes!
Amanda incorporated an emrodiered piece of fabric from her dad’s shirt with she and Chris’s wedding date. This fabric was sewn into the underneath of her dress.
Amanda + Chris decided to exchange gifts on their wedding day. When couples decide to do this, we really love to capture their reactions so that the other can see when the photos are released how they felt when opening the gifts.
Amanda said she felt a little like a queen on her wedding day with everyone helping her and tending to her needs. She sure did look like one!
Chris was all smiles when he saw Amanda for the first time during the first look.
Doing a first look is such a great idea because Amanda and Chris was not only able to see each other first but it also gave us the opportunity to shoot outdoors in beautiful, natural light.
Gorgeous, Amanda!
At the last minute, we had a change of plans and decided to stay at Amanda’s and shoot in her backyard. I’m so happy we did because we were able to get some lovely photos…and incorporate objects that were sentimental, too.
What a stunning group of women.
This was my first time shooting at St. Francis…and wow.
The ceremony was perfect!
Their first kiss as husband and wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Roques
There were so many unique and personal details throughout their reception!
But not only was everything so well done, several aspects of the reception was sentimental as well.
Their first dance. I love the way that Amanda lights up when she smiles!
The image below on the right is one of my favorites from their wedding.
Amanda + Chris served their guests sliders and fries as a midnight snack. Isn’t that such an adorable idea?!
