What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Whimsical, Vintage, Shabby Chic
What is your favorite wedding purchase?
My Martina Liana wedding gown!
Were there any details you created yourself?
*Homemade Bread and Butter Pickles- the first time that Charlie ever called me was when I was at my parent’s house making bread and butter pickles!! And so I used this same recipe and we gave these as wedding favors.
*We used a Guestbook Quilt instead of a sign in book!
*My mom made table runners, a succulent display, ring bearer pillow, garter belt, wedding dress hanger and bridal cake display.
*My dad made a display shelf for the pickle display!
What inspired your personal wedding style and how were your personalities incorporated into your wedding day?
Charlie and I knew that we wanted a traditional church wedding and chose to get married in the same church that his parents and grandparents were married in. We chose the Petroleum Club because I grew up going there with my family for Sunday lunches after church. We both appreciate sentimental traditions that we can someday pass on to future generations such as these.
What are some of your favorite wedding memories?
I feel like the wedding was absolutely gorgeous and am so very grateful to my mom and my friend Jessica for all of their hard work to personalize the reception in the way that they did. My mom handmade nearly everything and I will have these things to pass on to future generations. Rodney went above and beyond and created the most beautiful flower arrangements, bouquets and garlands. Everyone keeps talking about the guest book quilt and I can’t wait to see it once it is all together with of our friends and families’ best wishes and blessings.
Of course the most memorable incident would have to be when my best friend and matron of honor, Amy, ran into the candelabra, struggled with it a bit and then it finally collapsed on my “lingering train”!! Looking back on it I cannot stop laughing!!
I also just wanted to thank you again for everything Catherine- you are truly blessed to have found your calling! You are as sweet as you are creative! 🙂
