I never would have thought that the same two sweet individuals I met in a ballroom class at UL Lafayette would one day ask me to photograph their wedding. But not only have I had the BLESSING + HONOR of photographing their wedding…but I’ve also had the opportunity to get to know these two and call them friends.
The craziest part of the story is…that very same ballroom class where I met these two, was the same place that they met each other. During class we’d exchange partners but at some point early on in the semester, Alexis + Daniel chose each other. At first they chose each other as dance partners and as friends.
But when the timing was right…they chose each other to date. And on the 20th day of this month, they chose each other and husband and wife.
Alexis + Daniel own Ragin Photo Booths and have had their fair share of wedding experience…so when it came to planning their own they had a clear vision of what they wanted.
They’re also very crafty as a couple and together made several signs and decor for their wedding including the entire cake backdrop.
Their wedding could be described as elegant, refreshing, and memorable with a lovely palette of navy, ivory, green, and blush pink.
I’m so thrilled that we were there to share in their day…and below is a preview of their wedding.
Congratulations you two; I know you’re in for a lifetime of love and lots of fun together. I’m so happy for you!

How gorgeous are these bridesmaid necklaces by Joli Petale?
Alexis had a request to get dressed with just she and her mom so that her bridesmaids could all see her wedding gown together for the first time. And this was their reaction:
Awe! There are just so many great moments throughout their wedding. I love that Kors was also able to be a part of the action!
Alexis + Daniel’s wedding was held at the lovely St. John’s Cathedral.
What a pretty and sweet group of ladies. 🙂 And I adore their florals from Dallas Floral Design.
Seriously…how fun is this crew?
Alexis + Daniel exchanged letters before the ceremony. I think this is such a fun idea for couples who opt not to see each other before.
And….their reaction to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
St. John’s is SO pretty!
This photo makes me smile.
This moment was captured just after the wedding. Look at the way Daniels’ mother is looking at her new daughter-in-law! 🙂
We spent a few moments photographing in the church after the wedding.
As Alexis and Daniel were exiting I was taken aback by the beautiful backlight coming from the spotlight in front of the church. So we stopped…and grabbed what I would consider to be my favorite shots from their wedding: LOVE.
Their first dance as husband and wife…and their beautiful wedding cake.
In terms of memorable moments…I think this ranks up there with one of my ALL-time favorites. And I’m sure Alexis will never forget when Daniel, his brother, and his father surprised her with a choreographed Michael Jackson dance. The guests LOVED it!…and OF COURSE she did too!
Their reception was held at The Madison…where we grabbed this shot below from the balcony above.
