What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
fun, classy, magical
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
I chose NicoBella for several reasons. I had never been to a wedding there before, so it was going to feel new and special to me on my big day. I had seen pictures of weddings there, and the place is absolutely beautiful. It has both soft and hard features with brick, cypress, chandeliers, and draping. Lastly, I picked it because it was in the place I grew up. It felt sentimental.
What is your favorite wedding purchase?
I can’t pick just one. If you’re forcing me to narrow it down to three…my dress, the groom’s cake, and the koozies!
What is your wedding song?
Crazy Love by Van Morrison
What is your favorite wedding memory?
I’m sure I should say something about my husband here, but probably doing the worm in my wedding dress : )
Did you create any details yourself? How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
Our goldendoodle, Gus, is very important us. We had to incorporate him in somehow, so our groom’s cake was a statue of Gus. We also took a picture of him dressed in a tux, and set that up by his cake. Our Koozies read “Matt and Kaylin go together like Shrimp and Petroleum” which is also on a t-shirt we had airbrushed at the festival several years ago. We also put our friend’s nicknames on the programs. This is something my mom really fought me on, but I had to make my new husband happy in the end! Some of my favorite personal touches were actually at the rehearsal dinner. We had caricatures made of us with Gus, and put them on wine bottles for our favors. Also, my mom and her friends beautifully painted oyster shells for our place cards.
