Recently, I decided that once every few weeks, I would blog and share an organization or a product that I believe in. The organization that I am about to describe is one that I encourage you, if you are a photographer (whether local or not) to check out!
As a photographer, I am constantly looking for ways to grow and to expand my knowledge base. In the past, I’ve read a TON of books on subjects ranging from lighting to marketing. I’ve attended one-on-one and group seminars, workshops, and conventions.
Within the past year, I’ve been amazed at the industry as a whole. There is so much knowledge to be shared…and people are out there everyday, educating and sharing that pleathora of information! Locally and nationally, there are photographers who are open and willing to help others grow. I’ve made a promise to do my best at sharing as well.
In this industry the thing that I’ve grown to treasure most are the friendships. I have networked with lots of photographers and there is a handful that I’ve grown to really trust and rely on. We share, and we ask each other questions. These friendships started with our willingness to get out there and meet each other.
Locally, there’s the Camera Club based in Lafayette, LA and BRYPP based in Baton Rouge, LA. These are both public and open groups for photographers. And what I wanted to write about today is a group that I learned about last year at WPPI. It’s called The [b] school.
The [b] school was created by photographer Becker and designed to be an international forum for photographers to connect and to share. It’s open for questions and even for critique. Anyone can post questions and anyone can comment on the questions posted. It’s like facebook, for photographers! The fabulous thing about the [b] school is that it reaches beyond the local groups and into other states and even other countries.
When I first became a member I was astonished by the level of questions and interactions. It truly is a wonderful group to be a part of. The cost is $200 for an entire year and definitely worth the investment. Because that’s what it is…an investment. If you’re interested in checking it out, feel free to click the image below or visit the following link: www.thebschool.com
If you are a member of The [b] school, feel free to shoot me a comment below. I’d love to connect! And if you have any questions, I’d be happy to help.
Have a wonderful weekend!
