What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Hilarious, Delicious, and Amazing
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
I actually found The Terminal via a Facebook ad. It was the first and only venue we looked at. They had just finished renovating the space back to its original 1930s state and not many people had celebrated events there yet, which is usually pretty rare in New Orleans. We walked in the door to The Atrium (where our reception was held) and we were immediately blown away. Patrick and I both have a love for history and architecture, so we knew that we didn’t have to look anywhere else.
What is your favorite wedding purchase?
I think that my favorite wedding purchase was my dress. My mom and I are always on the hunt for a good deal. So, when we heard that MaeMe was having a “White Friday Sale” the day after Thanksgiving, we figured that it wouldn’t hurt to look. I honestly didn’t think that I would find a dress that day since it was only sample sizes and you only had 30 minutes to try dresses on. But, I did and it was a total steal! When I put it on and I knew it was “it,” my mom and I laughed after I asked, “Should I be crying?” and she responded, “We don’t have time!” It was definitely a different sort of dress buying experience than what you see on Say Yes to the Dress. But, it was very much us.
What is your favorite wedding memory?
Our favorite wedding memory by far was during our wedding ceremony when we realized that the wedding bands did not make it to the ceremony space. All everyone could do was laugh as my Matron of Honor, Kristin, went running down the hallway after she realized that they were still in her purse.
Did you create any details yourself?
How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
I think that one of our most personalized items for our wedding was the groom’s cake, which was the face of our dog, Pancakes. It came out better than we could have dreamed and we absolutely loved it! Everyone that knows us can tell you how perfectly that cake captured our personalities.
Lauren + Patrick’s wedding day was so special. The sun set as the couple exchanged vows in a beautiful and intimate ceremony. The moment walked in the ceremony space Patrick literally let out a sigh of relief at seeing her. It was perfect. Following the ceremony we made our way up to the top tier overlooking the airplanes! So cool! The reception was filled with laughter, good music, excellent food and LOTS of dancing! Congratulations to a couple deserving of happiness. <3 I am so happy to have been a part of your wedding day!
