What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Southern, whimsical, Eclectic
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
Our location was my grandfather’s plantation. We chose to get married there because my parents reception was there.
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
Oh this is difficult, I am obsessed with my dress because it was custom made to exactly what I wanted. I also love my green shoes. The fireworks and heart shaped sparklers I purchased were pretty legit as well. I also enjoyed the favors-mini champagne bottles personalized with our names on them.
What is your favorite wedding memory?
Oh man, it is hard to choose just one. Putting that ring on his finger was incredible and vowing and promising our commitment to each other was a dream come true.
The music we chose for the bouquet and garter toss will forever be a hysterical memory to me! For the bouquet toss we played: Move B*tch, Get Out the Way and for the garter toss we played: B*tch better have my money. I am bursting with laughter just typing it and reminiscing.
Did you create any details yourself? How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
I wanted the memory tree made for my parents with pictures of them hanging in the limbs. We also recreated the same candelabras that were used at my parents reception as well as my sister’s reception.
Hunter loves pecan pies, so his groom cake was miniature pecan pies.
After we were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Hays, the string quartet played Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust as we were exiting the ceremony. This was a surprise from me to Hunter as well as the guests because it just cracks me up and I wanted everyone to have a good laugh and get pumped for the reception.
