If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?
So Much Fun!!
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
I was in residency and sent Christopher to New Orleans to pick. I told him whichever one he liked the most we would book. His favorite was Broussard’s. We picked St. Mary’s because it wasn’t too far away, had an interesting history and is a beautiful church!
What was your favorite wedding detail?
Can the band be a detail? They were amazing. Aside from that, my engagement ring is gorgeous. He did a great job with that!! Also the lighting at Broussard’s…I’m so glad I wasn’t in charge of the lighting. I couldn’t even have dreamed it would be so beautiful!!
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
Christopher – seeing my bride walk down the aisle
Ashleigh – reception and second line – the party was unforgettable!! Also, the last dance in front of the carousel bar was unforgettable!!
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
We planned our wedding around the band – because we love a good party. We also made sure to include a bunch of our family in the ceremony because they are so important to us. We wanted everyone to feel welcome and included. We wanted to share our love of all things New Orleans with our guests, including the traffic we caused by shutting down Canal St. for our second line!
What is your wedding song?
“You Are the Best Thing” – Ray Lamontagne
