If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?
Classy, fun, and unique
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
The view! We knew we wanted to get married in New Orleans, and with lots of out-of-town guests, it made sense to have a classic New Orleans wedding in a central location. The Riverview room was perfect for us because they had a rooftop overlooking downtown for the ceremony and then the large reception space overlooking the river. You get both views and dont have to move locations between the wedding and reception. Guests could go straight to food and drinks after the ceremony.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
I loved that we had our rehearsal dinner at Can’s Aunt’s house. It was a unique and intimate setting in their backyard complete with homemade Turkish foods, surprise belly dancer, turkish music and dancing, and traditional henna ceremony in which the bride leaves her family to join her husband’s family.
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
Too hard to pick just one! I loved the first look because it was a private moment with Can and I on the balcony, but all of our wedding party and family were watching from inside the suite. I also enjoyed our carriage ride away from the venue, it was a quiet time were we could reflect back on the day and enjoy the first few moments of being married riding through the French Quarter.
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
We were able to embrace the Turkish side at the rehearsal dinner and our wedding favor was an evil eye(turkish token of good luck) magnet personalized with a tag including our names and wedding date made by my mother-in-law
What is your wedding song?
