If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?

Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
St. Francis of Assisi is our favorite church in New Orleans. During our engagement, we started going to mass there every Sunday and fell in love. Coincidentally, Troy’s confirmation name is Francis which he picked after St. Francis of Assisi. We also LOVE that St. Francis of Assisi is the Patron Saint of Animals and Nature which embodies everything we both love.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
The white and gray roses, succulents and greenery in the mix of our wedding bouquets and flowers. It was the perfect touch for our NOLA winter wedding. Simple yet elegant.
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
Troy and I were surprised by the bride’s parents with a gospel choir during the band break. The bride’s all time (year round) favorite movie is Love Actually. When the gospel choir came out of the back room, they began to slowly sing the words “Love…Love…Love” from the paralleling surprise scene of a gospel choir singing at a wedding in the beginning of Love Actually. It was the most PERFECT moment that Troy and I will never forget. My happy tears were strolling down my face as I realized that my life not only felt just like a movie, but it was a real life loving miracle. Love is all you need!
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
All along the tables at the reception, we had oyster shells placed next to the flowers and candles. These oyster shells represent our love for Louisiana’s nature and Troy’s career with wildlife and fisheries. Troy is currently doing a masters involving Oysters so this was a very special touch for him and the both of us. We collected and hand painted the oyster shells ourselves! We hope to use them in our home as a reminder of our beautiful and special day.
