Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
We wanted a space large enough to fit all of our guests and not have them feel cramped or stuck in one area. Also, we loved the floor to ceiling windows that faced St. Charles and the egg rolls are to die for!!
What was your favorite wedding detail?
All we were worried about was how fun our wedding was going to be, but Elyse Jennings Weddings has an eye for detail!! The candle wall is always an eye pleaser, but the bridal bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere were such small details that I loved. My favorite flower, anemone, was only part of my bouquet and his boutonniere and not in the other wedding flowers. It felt very connected and romantic. A second favorite was our sign in book! We wanted something that we would be able to display in our home and the Simon (Where y’at sign) was something different and perfect.
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
Hands down watching Michael perform his “Mick Jagger” dance.
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
We made sure to pick the most energetic band that would interact with the crowd. Also, we made sure to pick our favorite foods such as grilled cheese and even brought in one of our favorite restaurants, Blue Oak BBQ!
