John was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. He received his MBA from the University of Texas and landed a consulting position in Dallas. Natalie was born in Chicago but moved to Texas at a very young age and has always been a Texan at heart. She’s lived in Dallas for most of her life and attended law school at SMU. As both John + Natalie grew individually, their paths began to align when Natalie met her future roommate, who eventually married John’s roommate. Natalie + John both stood in their wedding and have been inseparable ever since. Maybe they were taken with each other’s dance moves.
For Natalie + John’s wedding, they envisioned a beautiful, Catholic ceremony with everyone having a “crazy good time” at the reception. Well, that surely happened! They opted for a subtle wintery feel with the blues and silvers to keep with the evening, formal classic look and ensured the fun with, as John likes to put it, “booze and an awesome band.” They spent a lot of time picking what they hoped to be a high energy, interactive band that plays a variety of music. Everyone was mingling, drinking, and dancing the night away.
Natalie + John’s wedding could be described as joyful, fun, and elegant. Amelia and I felt so honored to have shared in your day and are excited to reveal the wedding preview post:
Natalie + John’s day began at the Westin.
Meanwhile, Amelia spent some time with John and his groomsmen.
Natalie says that her dress was her favorite purchase…and she waited until she found the perfect one.
Don’t Natalie and her mom look like twins?
So…Amelia grabbed this shot of the guys. And WOW. She nailed it! This is one of my alltime favorites!
I love these moments between Natalie + her mom.
So fly.
Amelia also grabbed this shot of the view from the rooftop at the Westin.
Natalie + John opted not to do a first look, so instead I grabbed this shot just before the wedding while they exchanged gifts.
Wasn’t this hangout room at St. Patrticks so cool?
I love when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day.
St. Patricks is one of the most beautiful churches in New Orleans!
John’s good friend Paul was the priest for their wedding. It really made the ceremony so personal.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rabenhorst
We spent some time after the ceremony photographing inside of St. Patricks and at the Westin as well!
LOVE
The stairwell at the Westin is gorgeous!
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
This is one of my favorite images from their wedding day.
John + Natalie really gave their guests a true New Orleans experience: king cake and all!
Let me tell you…this couple can DANCE!
For their exit, they used the Texas flag instead of napkins for the second line!
The Newlyweds!
Natalie + John,
I hope you had a wonderful time on your honeymoon in Belize! Amelia and I really enjoyed the opportunity to share in your wedding day. Everything was all that you described that you wanted and I’m so thankful to have been there to document it!
