Let the wedding planning begin. First stop: Choosing the venue. So…consider stopping at the City Club at River Ranch. Since I’ve moved into my office, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people including Hannah Trahan, Private Events Director of City Club. And….she is incredible at what she does….and completely impresses me with all that she does, so I decided to feature City Club here!
Shooting at City Club is such a great experience; everything is always in order and well put together. It’s one that I feel confident in recommending for your venue. I simply enjoy shooting there and enjoy seeing the bride so happy to be there as well.
City Club at River Ranch caters to the bride that needs it all…..and all in one place. It’s the only place that has the coordinator, the person that you have been working with throughout the process at the actual event. Hannah also assists with catering, planning, vendor recommendations, and decor.The great thing about City Club is that they are able to handle both outdoor weddings and the reception in the same area. And if you wanted to do your rehearsal dinner at City Club and spend the night at Carriage House, you could truly spend your entire wedding weekend here without stepping in a vehicle once. :) :) :)
Isn’t the decor just GORGEOUS right now? I love that City Club has taken the time to make the venue seasonal. The last wedding I shot there was during the fall, and there was fall decor then as well. :) :) :) LOVE it.
This first part of the Venue that I’m featuring is call the Evangeline Room:
As you walk through the initial entrance area, which is excellent for mingling, you will enter into the bar area:
And as you continue through, you will arrive at the main dining area:
And just like every event planned here at City Club, for the event today, everything was ready and set up well before the guests arrive, with plenty of beautiful details to add to the overall look of the venue. Don’t you just love these chairs?
Having a background in architecture, I feel like I am definitely drawn to this venue. I’m drawn to the attention to detail in lighting, textures, and spacial arrangements. Not only is it BEAUTIFUL, but it’s functional as well.
The second space that is featured below is the Fleur De Lis Ballroom. And for wedding receptions, they place a wooden dance floor in between the center columns for dancing. And I have seen that dance floor in action!!!! :) :) :)
I just love the beautiful Christmas decor that covers the mantle, hangs from the white Christmas tree, and covers the tables, the columns and the walls in the venue. It looks absolutely gorgeous.
Hannah, the Private Events Coordinator here is a certified Beverly Clark wedding professional. But that’s not all….she’s planned over 200 weddings in the past 5 years (averaging 40-50 per year). She handles all booking for bridesmaids luncheons and showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, and receptions starting from the initial meeting, through the planning (making each wedding unique and specific), and finishing with her actual hands on coordination on the wedding day.
And on a personal level, I really can’t say enough about her as a person. The wall…to the left…of notes. That’s thank you notes written by the brides up brides who’ve dreamed of the perfect wedding, that Hannah came through and delivered for them. And I understand why, because really, she’s a go-getter, she’s personable, and she’s so much fun to be around. We’ve only just met and I feel like I’ve known her forever.
I asked Hannah what her favorite part of working for City Club and planning was and she told me this, “I love working with so many different brides, and being able to create so many unique weddings. And to have a bride thank me after the wedding and say that I was able to deliver everything that she dreamed of means the world to me.”
So ladies, don’t wait. As a wedding photographer, I’ve learned that it’s not crazy to receive an inquiry for a wedding over a year and a half away!! :) And if you’re currently planning your wedding, Hannah suggests booking your venue a minimum of a year in advance.
