Matthew and Brooke met in law school and were so thankful to have each other to make law school a little more bearable. After law school, and surviving the grueling Louisiana State Bar, Brooke moved to New Orleans to take a job while Matthew stayed in Baton Rouge. Of course, moving away from each other was difficult but, they both knew their relationship was strong enough to handle it! Eventually, Brooke made the move to Lafayette, Louisiana where Matthew was also working and a few months later, they were engaged!
Matthew proposed on April Fool’s Day! The only reason Brooke knew he was not April fooling is because they were celebrating her birthday, one day early that evening. They went to Ruffino’s to eat for what she thought was going to be her birthday dinner. While “waiting for their table” they walked down to the riverfront where Matthew proposed. The bridge was decorated with beautiful flower arrangements and just when Brooke thought it could not get any better, Matthew had arranged for Brooke’s family and close friends to be there to watch the proposal and celebrate afterwards!
Below are a few of my favorites from their engagement session in the New Orleans French Quarter!
