If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?
Best day ever!
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
Both of our families come from Jesuit backgrounds so Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church was an easy choice for us to have our ceremony there. It meant a lot to us to share the beautiful church with our friends and family. One of my dearest friends is the Events Coordinator at The Civic Theater. She easily convinced me to view the space and without hesitation I knew we had to have it there. Plus I knew I’d be in good hands with her! It has old architecture touches mixed with modern. Bonus was it was in close proximity to Immaculate Conception.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
Seeing all our friends and family! When else do you get your favorite people all in one space?!
What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
It really is hard to pick just one. I tried to soak up every moment. I feel like every moment was better than the next! But I can’t forget the look on Matt’s face when he heard the first sound of our drum line. It was a surprise to everyone which made it even better.
Matt would say his would be the fact so many guests complemented him on his dance moves :).
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
We had a lot of guests coming in from out of town so we wanted them to experience a New Orleans wedding from a second line, custom hankies, snoballs and drum line. However being a born and raised Michigan girl I wanted to pay tribute with our first dance being a Motown song.
What is your wedding song?
