Was this the dress you initially thought you’d wear for your wedding?
I knew the silhouette I was looking for, but I thought I would want a lot of beading and lace…then I picked the most simple dress on the rack!
Tell Me About Your Dress! Why did you choose this look?
I kept searching for a “dramatic” dress which I thought that would come with detailing on the dress. After trying on my dress, I realized it was all about the construction of the dress. As soon as I decided on this dress, all of the pieces started to fall into place.
How do you feel when you put on your dress?
This dress showcases me. I never thought about how all the beading and lace I had originally wanted might distract everyone from actually seeing ME as a bride. I feel like I can walk down the aisle with the drama I had always envisioned, but with more of a simplistic elegance.
Why did you choose this particular bridal session location?
I decided on the Alumni Center because that is where I originally wanted our wedding to be. Unfortunately, an outdoor wedding in August would not have been fair to anyone attending. But, I love any Hays Town home and the gardens are just beautiful. I chose the Lulu Hilliard Art Museum because it is a classic southern style home (and those columns!). It is also where I took my senior pictures 🙂
