Haylei contacted me awhile back asking about the potential of interning with me?….
Interning with ME? (Or at least that was the thought that crossed my mind).
It’s been such learning experience having Amelia on board, teaching her about photographing and allowing her “in” so to speak. So, the idea of having Haylei as a part of the team for awhile made me nervous ALL OVER AGAIN!
Being on the verge of graduating with her photography degree from Houston, Haylei explained that she was looking for knowledge (especially in regards to business) and a means of getting re-inspired.
We skyped a few weeks ago and hit it off instantly. Yesterday was the third time we’ve actually spent time together and you’d swear we have been friends for years.
I was so happy to have her along for Monique’s bridal session this week and thankful to see her jump right in. It was very admirable to see someone as knowledgeable as Haylei willing to “get dirty” for the shoot.
After literally JUST tying the knot herself (a little over a week ago in fact), she has hit the ground running. I can see the drive, the passion, and the discipline in Haylei and I’m excited to have her on my team for the next few weeks.
It’s going to be an adventure…and I’m already feeling a bit vulnerable but I’m trusting that we will both learn lots and it will be an awesome experience.
So, if you’re scheduled for a session in the next few weeks or if you’re wedding is just around the corner, you may have the chance to meet this witty, spunky soul, too!
