Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
Both being raised Catholic and our faith being at the center of our relationship, it was important to us to get married at the Mother Church of our home town: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Knowing how important it was to the both of us to have a reception venue that was inviting, formal, and spacious, the Lake Charles Country Club was the perfect choice.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
Each and every detail made our day so perfect. But by far, our memory display was the most special. Having several grandparents not physically there with us on our Big Day was not easy, but having their portraits and names displayed at our reception entrance was the perfect tribute to their significance in our lives.
What was your best wedding day memory?
There are so many to choose from so we will just say two of the most important:
Riding in the limo with my family heading to the church before the wedding ceremony was so memorable to me. Having that ‘last’ time with my family before being married was emotional, loving, and important to me. I will forever remember that feeling.
Together our favorite memory was when we prayed together before the ceremony. Holding hands on two sides of a brick wall at the church created an emotion we did not know was possible. The excitement got much stronger, and it was calming at the same time. Holding hands made the nerves go away and peace fill our hearts.
