It was somewhat difficult planning a trip for both Brad and I without knowing exactly what he’d want to do but I used my best judgement and so far everything has been perfect!
(This was just after I surprised him with the trip).
The Surprise
In addition to the fact that I go full speed ahead with everything I do…I also thrive on surprises. I mean really, anyone can SAY they don’t love a surprise but I don’t know a single person who doesn’t actually enjoy the thrill of someone else thinking of them. Also, I personally enjoy thinking of and seeing the excitement from someone I love.
This is Brad’s last semester of actual architecture studio. Studio is the design courses in architecture, the class that keeps you in the black hole of Fletcher for hours…days…weeks on end. So, with this semester being his last studio (the one where he’d design and defend his thesis project) it called for a celebration. In comes Adventure Disney.
I knew this would most likely be the only time in life that I could literally kidnap Brad for a vacation, and this is what I did. I told him we would be heading to Biloxi for one night to ensure he’d wrap up loose ends (including his thesis book) and in the meantime, I packed us both for the extent of our trip. The morning of I texted him a pre-recorded video (which gave me the opportunity to film his reaction).
In the video, I told him how proud of him I was, and thanked him for being such a huge support and so important to me. And then…I revealed the secret.
He. Was. Shocked.
He couldn’t believe that we were leaving Right Then! It was totally worth every stressful minute of preparing for that moment. So..we literally walked out the door and took off on a road trip!!!
I cannot wait to blog the entire trip from start to finish. I plan to write out my opinions on the do’s and do not’s of Disney for others and maybe even for future trips for us! 😉 But in the meantime, here is a photo I took at last night’s event. We bought tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and it was by far our favorite part of the trip yet!!!
I hope you’re having a Very Merry day as well!! What do you think of the surprise? …. what was your favorite surprise?!
