In an effort to inform others about vendors that I believe in…I wanted to start this post off as the first in a series of FEATURED VENDORS. Monthly, I will be featuring vendors that I believe in.
In this case, this vendor is a special one. I recently photographed the wedding of Cassie + BC Thibeaux. After the wedding, Cassie decided to make the jump into wedding planning.
Having had the opportunity to get to know Cassie through Lauren + Marc’s wedding as well as for Cassie’s bridals, engagements, and wedding day…I very quickly took note of Cassie’s organization, determination, and positive attitude!
Although Cassie has just moved into the wedding planning business as owner of Southern Fete, I know without a doubt that Cassie will be a success. (Below are photos of Cassie from her bridal session at Jungle Gardens).
I asked Cassie to take a moment to share some of her thoughts regarding the business, and this is what she had to say!
*Tell the readers (brides/women) about your business: What makes what you different from your competitors?
Southern Fete is a Lafayette-based event planning business focusing on weddings – ensuring that brides (and who are we kidding? grooms and families) are as stress-free as possible leading up to and on the wedding day. What makes Southern Fete different is that our couples can rest assured that no detail will be left untouched by the time the wedding arrives. Whether a bride needs assistance from the get-go or just needs someone to take over the last few weeks, Southern Fete brides are given my full attention to ensure that the wedding day goes as smoothly as possible! I’m pretty sure I was born with a pencil and calendar in hand, so being organized and detail oriented is like second nature to me.
*What is one tip you could give a couple to help them with their wedding day?
You get sick of hearing, “It goes by so fast,” but it’s because it’s the truth. My one tip to a bride is to make sure you’ve delegated tasks (or hopefully have a coordinator) who can be your eyes, mind, and brain that day. You want EVERY minute to be wonderful and stress free!
*What do you enjoy most about being in the wedding industry so far?
I love meeting new people, and in this industry, you meet new people all of the time. It keeps my job interesting and dynamic. I also love that no wedding is the same. Every day is different, and it’s refreshing to have a job like that.
*What is one of your favorite business memories?
Since I’m the new owner, there are so many more memories to be made but my favorite memory so far has been reconnecting with people I went to school with who are now planning their “big” day!
*What is your favorite thing about owning/running your business?
My favorite thing about owning/running my own business is the freedom to make decisions. I decide what my social media strategy is, what my brand will look and feel like, etc. At the same time, it’s also knowing that I’m free to make Southern Fete all that it can be – pushing boundaries and setting high but achievable goals. It’s knowing that “good enough” isn’t what Southern Fete is about.
*What is your proudest moment and what hopes do you have for the future?
My proudest moment is the moment I signed on the dotted line and took the leap of faith. I’ve always dreamed of being my own boss but never knew that it would become a reality. No one said it’ll be easy, but I trust that all good things come with hard work and the future will hold great things. I hope the future holds many many more stress-free Southern Fete couples who trust in me completely to coordinate one of the biggest days of their lives.
