This little lady is a large ball of fire. Her giving and energetic spirit is contagious and I admire her will to just Get. Things. Done. <3

My first opportunity to work with Alyssa was for our Southern Styled Shoot featured on Ruffled Blog. I absolutely love styled shoots for this reason. I knew Alyssa as a fellow wedding vendor but never had the chance to really get to know her until then. Through the process of planning and executing our vision…I learned about her personally and professionally. I am now happy to call Alyssa a friend…and looking forward to photographing HER wedding next year! 🙂 🙂

So….I thought this month it would be fun to do a little feature on her and her business Alyssa Arlene Events!

What Makes Alyssa Arlene Events Different?

With every wedding, I strive to bring to life my bride’s dreams of her perfect day. I work tirelessly to ensure a stress free planning process and wedding day…and I know the importance of developing close relationships with my brides and their families. I understand that every wedding day isn’t just a big day for the bride and groom, but for their family and friends in attendance. Therefore, I always make sure that my brides and their families know that not only will they be well taken care of, but their guests will be as well.

What is ONE Tip you would give to a couple to help them on their wedding day?

Stop, take a deep breath, look around you and soak it all in! This is the day that you’ve been waiting for and when it’s finally here, it’s important to really embrace it. Oh! Also (guess this counts as a second tip?) Don’t sweat the small stuff! At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that the handsome fella at the end of the aisle becomes your husband and you, his wife. 🙂

What do you enjoy most about being in the wedding industry?

Meeting new people, making new friends, and building relationships with such wonderful people.

What is one of your favorite business memories?

Every wedding brings an amazing memory, but I suppose one of my most recent favorite memories was setting up and cleaning up a wedding in the rain! The ceremony and reception were beautiful, but the set up and the tear down were full of laughs and lots of runny mascara!

What is your favorite thing about owning/running your business?

What I love most about running my own business is the freedom that it provides. The freedom to make all my own business decisions is wonderful, but the freedom to be creative in all aspects of my business is what drives me! I’m forced to dig a little deeper, give a little more and challenge myself daily, which I love! Being a small business owner is rewarding in so many ways!

What is your proudest moment and what hopes do you have for the future?

Being featured on Catherine Guidry’s blog?! 🙂 Really though, being recommended by local wedding vendors and past brides makes me so proud and thankful. I feel honored knowing that the person making the recommendation really believes in me. I pray the Lord’s will allows me to continue doing something that I love so much, that I’m able to continuously overcome any challenges that are presented to me with a positive outlook, and that I always push myself by setting higher goals and reaching them.

What’s the best way for someone to reach you for more information?

I can be reached via email at, my website or on my cell at 337-592-2005!
