If you could sum up your wedding in three words, what would they be?
Elegant, timeless, and fun

Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
We knew we wanted to get married at Saint Michael’s. It’s a family church where my parents and grandparents were married and also where my sister and I were baptized. It made sense to have it at The Opera House since it’s so close by and exactly the elegance we were looking for. It worked out perfectly since we were able to have a “Cajun” second line from the church to the reception with my uncle on guitar and two of my cousins on fiddle and accordion.

What was your favorite wedding detail?
My favorite wedding detail was the rice put into the boutonnieres was from a family farm.

What is your favorite wedding memory from the day?
Our favorite wedding memory would have to be when the priest (Father Clint) read our letters to each other out loud to us for the first time (and for all of our guests to hear!). We definitely weren’t expecting that since he said he was only going to use parts of them in his homily but it made our ceremony that much more personal for us and for our guests. We got to keep the letters to read on every anniversary.

How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding celebration?
Adam’s groom cake was a fusion of Texas and Louisiana with his two favorite flavors for each state: Funfetti and German Chocolate.
My dress definitely felt like the perfect dress for me. I asked Louisiana Red to play all of our favorite songs so we could dance to them! One of my favorites was a line dance song which everyone had fun with! I had also asked the band to play a special song for all the Moms (my mom included) which was a big hit!

What is your wedding song?
For Your Precious Love by Otis Redding
