Today is a day for celebrating! And like some of you…I’ll be spending my day with friends and family…and eating way more than I should. 😉
But I thought that for today’s post it would be appropriate to blog about a few things that I am thankful for in my life…..so here we go:
* CHAOS: What sounds like a word of craziness and disorder is actually the name of my tiny, and somewhat chunky chihuahua. 🙂 He spends my office days laying in my lap and the rest of his time sleeping and pretending to be king of the house. LOL I love him to the moon and back and he truly brightens my day.
*MY FAMILY: Although sometimes I’m too busy for my own good (especially right now in the midst of Louisiana’s wedding season), my family is always understanding and supportive. I’m so thankful to have them through the harder times to lean on and in the happy times to laugh and enjoy life with. I <3 them so much and can’t wait to spend time with them today.
*SKINNY COWS: If you haven’t heard of these before, they’re seriously the best kept secret. I’m an ice cream junky so having one skinny cow a day makes. me. happy.
*SUNDAYS: After working a 6 day week most weeks, I look forward to my Sundays. I love my work but I also love relaxing. Sunday is the day I sleep late and just take it easy.
*COOL WEATHER: After coming off of what feels like the hottest summer we’ve had here, I’m thankful for a chance to slip on my boots and scarves this fall. It’s been really nice enjoying a bit of cool weather lately and I hope it lasts!
*FRIENDSHIPS: Seriously, I love my friends. They keep life interesting and I’m so thankful for them. I’ve learned the most valuable lessons from these people in my life…everything from pop culture (what? I don’t watch much TV) to how to handle the tough stuff. I appreciate thanksgiving because it’s giving me the chance to really be thankful for them.
*CLIENTS: The fact that I get to do what I love EVERY single day blows my mind. I never would have dreamed when I decided to forego my career as an architect to pursue photography….that I would be in a position to be so happy. I am thankful that my clients choose me as their wedding photographer and I will continue to work everyday to do my absolutely best.
*ART: I know this might sound silly but I’m just thankful for the ability to see beautiful things. Whether it’s an abstract painting, a beautifully designed piece of jewelry, or a modern home…I am thankful that there are dedicated artists in the world who spend their lives creating beautiful things.
*RELATIONSHIPS: I suppose this sort of encompassses every relationship in my life. But  in the process of shooting weddings, I’ve found the most important aspect of life is the relationships you hold. Wedding days are consistent proof of it. Of course the details are important, but what’s even more important…is the love that’s shared. In life, we are given so many precious relationships that can so quickly be taken.
So, today…go out and spend time with the people you love most. <3 
I took this photo on a trip to NOLA a few months back with one of my all time best friends! Seeing this photo really reminds me of what’s important in life.
